Carrig has been involved in the development and promotion of conservation and the built heritage since 1994. The company was founded from a research project based in Trinity College. We are a multi-disciplinary team who draw on experience that includes building science, architecture, history of art, building surveys, industrial heritage and geology. All aspects are devoted to the field of masonry research and building conservation. As a specialist consultancy, we employ high calibre professionals including conservation architects, historians, geologists, archaeologists and materials' scientists who help shape the company's future and are capable of handling all types of conservation projects.
Ireland has very significant commitments to the protection of heritage under Irish legislation and international conventions, such as the Venice and Burra charters. This must be taken on board when devising integrated heritage and cultural management, mitigation measures or setting priorities in terms of building protection and integration. With a proven track record and vast experience on dealing with protected structures, Carrig have the ability to deliver a consistent high quality service to our clients.
We offer independent professional services in the project management of the built heritage, fabric research & treatments and contribute to setting out policies at government level and conservation architecture throughout Ireland and the UK.
